Hellloooo, 2019! Kicking off the new year with a huge West Elm apartment haul! Living in the city this past year has definitely influenced my overall style. From fashion to home design, I have come to love and appreciate the contemporary, sleek aesthetics.

West Elm was the natural choice for me to go with when it came to decorating my urban home. I love the endless options of elegant and sophisticated furniture pieces that they carry. Hi guys! I am so excited to be able to share my completed high rise studio with you all!! This apartment was initially my boyfriend’s place, (you can see the empty tour here) however, fast forward about a year later and this quickly became our second home in the city!
As you can probably imagine, sharing a small space can be quite a challenge. Luckily, we had the opportunity to work with an amazing West Elm interior designer to help with the decorating process. She was able to create an open space layout with a sense of ebb and flow. So although it’s technically one room, it feels separated with distinct areas for various functions (sleep, eat, entertain, etc.)
When designing we opted for very simple but sophisticated furniture pieces. We are both are a big fan of contemporary aesthetics so we thought these modern pieces paired perfectly together. As a whole, they really elevate and craft a cohesive look within the space. (Pst..I’ll be sure to make an apartment haul video in the future featuring these items for you guys!). All in all, I absolutely love the transformation of our 585 sq. ft. studio. Now it looks and feels like a city chic apartment – there’s no other place I rather call home!
The breathtaking view of the city skyline from our high-rise apartment building!
New Year, New Haul!
Hello friends! As promised, here’s a collective haul featuring furniture pieces for my boyfriend’s apartment. He has been living in his high rise studio for a few months now , but as you know – decorating a home is always a work in progress. While shopping, we sought after minimal modern designs that would help craft a contemporary space that was simple, practical, and stylish. We managed to get a lot of items on sale around the holidays due to the monsoon of promotions going on. However, please be aware that the listed prices in my video might not reflect the same price on the retailer’s website. Even so, all the furniture items are still very affordable and great pieces to consider if you are interested. As always, thanks again for stopping by. I’ll talk ya guys in my next blog post!
Wayfair – Scandinavian-inspired Bed Frame
Dot & Bo – Contemporary Desk ( in stock at Target )
Ikea – Modern Tv StandWalmart – 49 “Smart Tv ( in stock Best Buy )
Marshalls – Sleek Night Stand Ikea – Simple Storage Cabinet+ 3 Cabinet Doors
I also included a mock up picture that a talented interior designer created for our space. It was a fun experience and I am so appreciative for her help. However it is a more of a girly glam look which doesn’t fit our overall style.
Welcome to another empty studio apartment tour – high rise edition! I thought it would be neat to share with you guys a more modern upscale apartment in the city. This is actually my boyfriend’s place, it’s a 15 min-ish walk from my home so I hang out here quite often. He was sweet enough to let me film the before footage to put on my YouTube channel. 🙂 The complex is very sophisticated and posh with modern amenities ( you feel like you are living in a fancy hotel ). There’s a sky lounge, fitness center, and pool all located on the 24th floor. It’s situated right in uptown allowing the apartment to have a gorgeous view of the city skyline. There is even a mini park located on top of the parking garage. This is where you will find us attempting to play tennis together (i’m not very good – ha!). His unit is also very sleek in design. There is dark hardwood floors throughout, stainless steel appliances, granite marble counter tops, a private balcony, and many more features. We plan to decorate with modern furnishings but still keep the space very open. My boyfriend is a minimalist by nature so I don’t think we are getting a lot of items …but i’ll keep you guys posted with a haul if we do! That’s all for this post, I hope you guys enjoy the extra pictures and the mini video tour! ~b
Hi Guys! Welcome to my home! I am so excited to show you guys around 🙂 . This blog post is a peek into my 324 sq. ft. uptown studio. As I have mentioned before, I recently moved from Ohio to the South a few months back. It’s been a whirlwind of adventures and I couldn’t have been happier with my decision for a life change. And lucky for me, I was very fortunate to get this affordable rental in the city center. Living in the city can get quite costly and the average apartment around here is over a grand (yikes!).
My studio is incredibly small but I absolutely love my little home – it actually feels more like an upscale dorm room to be honest. My place came equipped with a ton of built-in storage, a mini kitchen, 20 foot ceiling, and even a walk in closet! With these additions to help organize my space, I often forget how small my unit is. It also took me a while to get my place fully decorated to my satisfaction but I am happy with the turn out. Being a natural homebody, I especially wanted to create a cozy oasis space that I could be comfortable in 24/7. Anyways, I hope you guys enjoy the tour of my home and get some decor inspiration for yours! Until next time! ~b

Hi all! Here’s an unfurnished video tour of my current studio apartment. I have been living here for a few months now and I absolutely love it here! The energy of the city is contagious! I can’t tell you guys enough how lucky I am to snag this 324 sq. ft. studio with a monthly rent of $655. Most apartments in uptown are around a grand (yikes!). On top of the affordable price, my unit came with everything I could possibly need. There is plenty of built-in storage to make up for the lack of footage. A work/desk space right next to the kitchen, and washer/dryer combo in the walk in closet. I’ll admit the furnishings are super basic but they helped me save a lot of money on buying cohesive furniture. In addition, the complex has really good amenities. There are two pools and fitness centers, café/computer room, laundry room, and outside lounging areas. Although this is the smallest space I have ever lived in, it is actually my favorite apartment. I really couldn’t have been happier with my decision to call this place my home. ~b
