Hey guys! There’s something special about picnics and it’s an activity I LOVE to do in the summer. It’s a relaxing way to enjoy the outdoors and soak up the sunshine. This dock at the lake was the ultimate spot to set up a breakfast picnic.
The photos in today’s post were actually taken last year for a social media challenge sponsored by Olivio. Remember when I briefly mentioned that I have a knack for winning contests? Welp, it’s true! Some of the most notable brands that I have won from are Amazon Fashion, O-Cedar, Tory Burch, etc. Creating content/advertising is something I have always thoroughly enjoyed. From brainstorming to designing, I just love the whole process of being creative!
Olivio is a brand that believes in the goodness of family, food, and life. I collaborated with my brother and boyfriend to develop this mini photo series highlighting their product. I believe picnics are reminiscent of the simpler times so I was inspired to create a classic timeless moment featuring Olivio. I wanted to display how the butter’s warm and inviting flavors seamlessly integrates into life’s loving memories. ~b
The last main stop on my adventure out West was Antelope Island. It’s an idyllic island with close proximity to Salt Lake City (about an hour drive). To be honest, I was pretty tired at this point of my trip and a little bit cranky. I really wished this wasn’t the case but sometimes when you are constantly traveling, you yearn for your good old bed!
However looking back now, I am so glad we drove out there. The wildlife at Antelope Island is fantastic. It’s home to free-ranging bison, antelopes, bighorn sheep, and many various species of birds. You can admire the animals from afar as they roam freely in this prairie-like habitat. The area is surrounded by golden meadows of grasslands, large mountains jutting into the sky, and a scenic salt lake. We were lucky enough to experience good weather that day and have beautiful blue skies over us. This only added to the natural beauty of the landscape. If you are ever looking for a day trip to escape from the city commotion, then this is it. Peaceful and tranquil, you can easily immerse yourself in all things nature on Antelope Island. ~b
For the longest time, I had this mindset that the final destination was always the best stop. Not just in terms of travel but in my everyday life as well. I guess I have this natural tendency to want to arrive from point A to point B in the most efficient timely manner. That’s the Type-A personality trait side of me coming through. Although following a straightforward path in life is ideal, it’s really just not realistic. I am learning more each and every day that curveballs/setbacks are inevitable. To truly appreciate any final destination, you have to embrace the journey of getting there as well.
In fact, some of my favorite pictures in this post were not captured at Horseshoe Bend at all. Instead, they were taken on a random dirt road off of the main highway. The stop was unplanned and spontaneous, thanks to my lovely boyfriend who has a keen eye for photography. Among a sea of red rocks, there were these vibrant blue and white hills lingering in the distant. I was instantly drawn to the pops of colors and loved seeing the variations in the landscape. This location was also isolated which made it even more enjoyable.
After spending some time there, we continued our journey to our final destination,Horseshoe Bend. This is a mega tourist attraction in the area. It is a magnificent example of the natural beauty of Mother Nature and overall, an amazing sight to see. However, I am also thankful that I was able to experience the less traveled to stops along the way. 🙂 ~b
With Mother’s Day coming up in a few short weeks, I wanted to post a look inspired by my beautiful mother! My mom has always been and remains a strong role model in my life. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of her support! Honestly, she’s the absolute best. 🙂
Below are just a few of my favorite throwback pics. of her. I love how these images showcase her effortless classical style. She was never the one to wear extravagant flashy outfits to stand apart in a crowd and that’s what I love about her clothing choices. My mother’s understated elegance was always fashionableall on its own.
For my inspired styled outfit, I wanted to keep it simple and sophisticated – just like my mom. I opted for a timeless black blazer, which I believe is a must-have staple in every girl’s wardrobe. It’s super versatile and instantly pulls a look together. The red, white, and blue striped top was borrowed from my mom’s closet. I think it has a retro classic 90’s vibe to it. I paired the shirt with white neutral jeans to keep it crisp and clean. & To fully finish off the whole look, a quick swipe of red lipstick always adds a pinch of chic to any outfit! ~b
Happy Monday guys 🙂 It’s been a minute since I last posted an outfit of the day! A lot of exciting things are happening in my own personal life so I have been putting more of my focus on that. Plus, I am going to Hawaii very soon! My vacation is now extended for about two weeks in the tropics … so – yeah, it’s safe to say, I’m a very very lucky gal!
Anywho, here’s an outfit that I wore during my birthday weekend a long time back. I was visiting Savannah for the weekend to celebrate with my loved ones. It was my very first time there and the weather was glorious. I am born during the last week of February so this is not a common occurrence for me. I am used to snow and frigid cold weather because I lived up North for the majority of my life. Nevertheless, it was sunny and warm outside – the perfect weather combo for a flowy effortless dress. This blue floral dress, in particular, had a high collar mesh detailing that I absolutely adore. In addition, it had hidden pockets! All these neat little features are such a refreshing twist to a classic fit and flare. I wished it came in more prints and colors!
Also, I wanted to note that visiting Wormsloe Historic Site was one of the highlights of my trip. It is one of Savannah’s can’t-miss attractions and soo much prettier in person than in photos! Upon arrival, you are greeted by a breathtaking avenue sheltered by live oak trees and a canopy of Spanish moss. I believe there about 400 trees planted there to create this scenic driveway and it stretches on for about 1.5 miles to the estate. If you have time, you can also pay the ten dollar fee to explore the property and get a glimpse into Savannah’s past. ~b
Hi guys! Spring is in the air, literally! The weather has been warming up in the South which puts me in the mood for sunshine, florals, and pastels. Therefore a blog post filled with greenery and garden pics seems naturally fitting for today. Enjoy!
Nestled in north Charleston is the beautiful lush grounds of the Magnolia Plantation and Gardens. Plantations are such an integral part of Southern history that I think it’s a must do if you are visiting the area! Spanish moss trees & vibrant blooms dominate the foregrounds of this tranquil riverside setting.Magnolia Plantation and Gardensis the oldest public tourist site in Lowcountry and the oldest public gardens in America. It opened its doors to visitors in 1870.
During my visit, I was quite impressed by the property. The expansive plantation puts a huge emphasis on the natural setting with a wildlife area, botanical gardens, swamp lakes, etc. I think it’s safe to say that there’s definitely plenty to see here! I also took a walk-through tour of the historic home. It was built in 1676 and amazingly has survived so many historical events. To this day, after 15 generations, the plantation still remains under the control of the Drayton family. I highly recommend adding this pit stop to your checklist of places to see in Charleston because it’s very well worth it! ~b
Happy Tuesday, guys! Yesterday I drove down to Charleston with some family and friends for a mini day trip. So I thought what better idea then to share some photos from my last visit in the summertime!
Charleston, South Carolina is a super popular destination. Beloved by both tourists and locals, it’s well-known for its rich culture and historic charm. Exploring the historic district is a must-have and the best way to fully experience the city. Located in downtown, the South of Broad neighborhood is home to some of the most beautiful residential architecture. My absolute favorite is this posh mansion overlooking White Point Garden! It’s the perfect balance of classic and contemporary. Nearby these fabulous estates is the famous battery. It’s a nice place to take a stroll and catch a light breeze in the hot humidity. Below are some of my top pics from my summer trip, I’ll also be posting my pictures from my winter trip in a later blog post. As always, thanks for stopping by – until next time! 🙂 ~b
Valentine’s Day is on the horizon so I know a few of you ladies out there have some date night plans. Here’s my take on a casual cute look that’s perfect for any playful rendezvous! ~b
From comfort classic foods to iconic retro decor, there’s definitely something special about diners. It’s a place that offers a fun experience for everyone making it an ideal spot to share a milkshake or sundae with your significant other. 😉
What I Wore:
It’s safe to say that the general color scheme for Valentine’s Day revolves around pink and red tones. In this outfit I opted for a blush pink pin-striped top with a comfy periwinkle cardigan. A pair of white jeans complemented well with the lighter hues and to complete the whole look, I put a girly bow in my hair. Soft and sweet, I’m in love with this feminine ensemble!
If you guys watched my recent mini haul then you will know that I won an embossed record player from Urban Outfitters. Excited to test out my new stylish audio player, I made a beeline to my local record store. As I filed through the music selections, I was transported in time. From one-hit wonders of the 80’s to head-bopping tunes of the 90’s, there were sooo many options. Although in today’s age of modern digital media vinyls may appear to be inconvenient. The vinyl revival is very much alive and they are making a comeback in sales. Records offer music lovers a different experience. They are retro, classic, and emit nostalgia vibes. A perfect fit for any hipster’s cozy living room. I plan on collecting a few for my home. 🙂 ~b
Hi guys! It’s the official first post of 2018 and I’m starting it off with an outfit from 2017. Sorry I was MIA, but the holidays kept me pretty busy hanging out with the people I love 🙂 . These photos were taken on Christmas Eve in a little town known as Christmas Town USA. Population 665. The festive town dazzled and twinkled with 500,000 Christmas lights. This is an ongoing tradition within the community since 1956. The holiday lights sparked the streets with pure joy. It was absolutely heartwarming to see how excited all the children were in this glimmering wonderland!
In these photos, I’m posing inside a giant pine tree draped in stringed lights. Not your so average photoshoot – 😉 but I thought they turned out pretty neat! The lights danced and flickered all around me, leaving me a state of happiness. It also provided the perfect backdrop for this impromptu shoot. Anywho, more fun content is coming on the blog and I can’t wait to share them with you guys! In the meantime, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for reading and stopping by. I am so appreciative for your support. I’m wishing everyone a very bright and blessed year. ❤ ~b
