“Uptown girl, she’s been living in her uptown world”….
I’d be lying if I said I never hummed to the tune of Billy Joel when i’m out and about in the city. It’s been my home for the past few months so it naturally became my theme song. The city center park is the perfect go-to spot to people watch. You can find a variety of people here, from casual strollers to spiffy business people. My outfit of the day consist of a traditional pin striped button-up top that is norm for the office. However, I wore a pair of shorts to make the formal top more casual. I also opted for comfy footwear with my strappy gladiator sandals. My classy Tory Burch Mini Robinson satchel refines the look and pulls the outfit together. Sometimes less is more and I love this minimalist sophisticated style. I hope you get inspiration from this outfit and i’ll talk to ya guys next time! ~b
Hi all! I’m so excited to make this blog post about what’s in my bag. You can learn a lot about a gal by rummaging through her handbag. Whether she’s a neat freak or a hoarder of receipts – unzipping a purse is as revealing as entering someone’s bedroom. With a quick glance into mine you will uncover my love for coconut / vanilla scents , that I eat cough drops like candy (what exactly is in Ricola that makes it so yummy?!) , and I also have an issue with collecting bobby pins as well (they somehow all end in my purse– ha!). You get the gist that a purse holds our life – from random miscellaneous items to our sacred wallets that we wouldn’t dare leave the house without. We pack our bags to have our back because a purse after all is a girl’s best friend! So here’s a quick glimpse into my bag….. what’s in yours? ~b
P.S. This is my first stop motion video. It was quite a tedious process but I love the quirky effect of the final product! I enjoyed being creative on the project, despite having to re-shoot some scenes and having photo quality issues. I’m planning on making a what’s in my travel bag – so stay tuned!
Hi guys! Long time, no post (sorry, sorry). I just got back from a mini trip with my boyfriend and brother. We traveled out west to Portland, Seattle, and Colorado for a few days. It was a lot of fun but very tiresome as well. I did finish my YouTube video that I was planning on making before I left though (check it out on my channel – What’s In My Bag).
Anyways, here’s an outfit that I put together for a romantic dinner date with my boyfriend. We went to a restaurant in uptown with a breathtaking view of the city skyline. We had a lovely time watching the sun set and I got semi-dressed up for the occasion. The lace blue high neck/halter top is from the Lauren Conrad lines at Kohl’s. I think it’s perfect for a classy night out because it’s conservative and elegant. I wore a pair of white skinny jeans with my Givenchy Antigona mini cross-body bag to finish off the look. Hope y’all like this outfit inspo. for future date-nights! ~b
If you are following my insta feed and blog then it should come to no surprise now that I have a very feminine/girly sense of style. I love chiffon, satin, and lace – all in pastel shades of course! Blush pink is probably one of my favorite shades to wear year round. It’s a soft color that transitions well with the ever changing season. In this outfit I paired my blush off-the-shoulder top with plain white jeans, a matching light pink satchel, and a pair of neutral sandals. It’s a very basic but super easy look to recreate. A lot of times , keeping it simple is the best way to go! Anywho – that’s all for this look.
Also sorry for the lack of posts lately. I had to prep for an interview last week and haven’t made time to edit new content. I do have a video planned for YouTube though , but i’m not sure how to approach it just yet. Stay tuned and I’ll keep y’all updated! As always thanks for reading my blog, I really appreciate it. 🙂 ~b
Hi guys! This is my casual out-for-a-stroll park outfit. It’s an easy effortless look that makes you stylish in a breeze. Here in the South, the temperature is starting to get a bit cooler but definitely not cold enough for a jacket. That’s why I have been opting for long sleeve tops these days. This shirt, in particular, is one of my favorites for a variety of reasons. I absolutely adore the chic peek-a-boo shoulder detailing and the floral/vine-like pattern. I’m also a fan of the material as well. I have this thing for flowy chiffon fabrics and wear it regularly throughout the year (I just layer a lot more in the winter). To finish off the whole breezy look – I paired it with light washed skinny jeans, a perforated cross body bag, and some strappy sandals. Anyways, hope y’all enjoyed this outfit inspiration for the day. I’ll be sure to add some fall fashion soon when the leaves start changing here! ~b
Where does the time go? I can’t believe summer is coming to an end! I am dreading it…colder weather and I just don’t get along (although we have tried in the past). I’m just a flip-flop-all-year-long type of gal. But I have to admit , fall fashion and all the festivitiesis something I am looking forward to. For now though, I’m just going to enjoy the last rays of sunshine in this flowy maxi dress. It is more muted with earthy tones and the rustic/burnt floral pattern gives off a vintage boho vibe. These elements combined make it a transitional piece from summer to fall. I purchased the “dress” from American Eagle but it’s actually a maxi skirt that happens to fit me as an ankle length dress (#shortgirlprobs). I love the elegance of long dresses but have a hard time finding ones that do not swallow my petite frame. That’s why this skirt works as a dress, it comes in more size options and you can always belt it like I did to make it more fitted. Hope this tip helps one of you shorties out there! Talk to you soon! ~b
Summer is the season of musical festivals! It’s the perfect place to dress like a hippie and wear flower crowns. Here’s a simple outfit idea for these fun social gatherings. I went for the girl next door kind-of-look. Instead of wearing a white tee and jeans – I went with a sheer white tank top and distressed demin shorts. I dressed the simple look up with a few accessories. Overall, I think this a great easy look to replicate for hot summer concerts. It’s something you probably own in your own closet – making it super inexpensive. I also just crafted the flower crown myself ( I watched a youtube tutorial on how to make it) . Anyhow thanks for reading this post! Till next time. ~b
Correct me if I’m wrong…but the unofficial summer time uniform consists of crop tops & high waisted shorts. It’s really no surprise that demin shorts are the staples of summer fashion. The right pair can accentuate your legs and also make your behind look good (which is always a plus – ha!). The one I am wearing are actually from Abercrombie’s kid section (petite people problems). They are great because they hide my tummy. With more coverage around the waist, pairing it with a crop top seems like the natural fit. Together this combo is perfect for the effortlessly cool gal. It’s a laid-back kind of outfit that beats the summer heat in style! ~b
Spending some time outdoors is essential for a perfect day in the summer for me. I love the warmer climate and dressing for it (one of the many reasons why I moved to the South). As you already know, I am a big fan of dresses but skirts are also up there as well. With so many variations in prints and styles – I own a handful of them. This A-line floral skirt is one of my favorite for the summer! It buttons up in the front and has pockets, so it’s cute and functional. I paired it with a plain yellow top so there wouldn’t be a clash in patterns. I think this girly outfit would be great for the first day of school! It’s not super dressy and it will keep you cool throughout the day. Anyhow, I hope this post helps spark some outfit ideas! ~b
Summer has a way of bringing out the natural glow in all of us. Maybe it’s the sun kiss tans or the carefree vibe that permeates the air but it is easily one of my favorite seasons. The next few blog posts will be pictures from my summers in Ohio featuring some cute outfits (of course!). Cornfields, country back roads, and sunshine are all quintessential to my small hometown and I can’t wait to share parts of it with you guys! For the first pictures in the series, I am wearing a cream eyelet dress. It’s very simple but also charming and flattering. In the summer time you can easily look put-together by throwing on a basic dress. You don’t have to be fussy about matching bottoms, making it an easy go-to option. Also, look for white and cream colors so you can show off your glowing tan! To finish off my outfit, I just wore some beige sandals and a layered necklace. Uncomplicated accessories put more emphasis on the dress and the individual wearing it!
All in all, I love this effortless ensemble because it has a touch of femininity. It’s soft and sweet – perfect for any summer day. ~b
