With Mother’s Day coming up in a few short weeks, I wanted to post a look inspired by my beautiful mother! My mom has always been and remains a strong role model in my life. I know I wouldn’t be where I am today if it wasn’t for all of her support! Honestly, she’s the absolute best. 🙂
Below are just a few of my favorite throwback pics. of her. I love how these images showcase her effortless classical style. She was never the one to wear extravagant flashy outfits to stand apart in a crowd and that’s what I love about her clothing choices. My mother’s understated elegance was always fashionableall on its own.
For my inspired styled outfit, I wanted to keep it simple and sophisticated – just like my mom. I opted for a timeless black blazer, which I believe is a must-have staple in every girl’s wardrobe. It’s super versatile and instantly pulls a look together. The red, white, and blue striped top was borrowed from my mom’s closet. I think it has a retro classic 90’s vibe to it. I paired the shirt with white neutral jeans to keep it crisp and clean. & To fully finish off the whole look, a quick swipe of red lipstick always adds a pinch of chic to any outfit! ~b
I’ve been lucky enough to visit the beautiful country of France twice in my life. Once was on a school trip with a handful of honor students from my university. I had the opportunity stay in a French villa in the charming village of Valence Sur Baise. We stayed in a stylish historic maison with five bedrooms and five bathrooms. The home came equipped with a grand library, chef kitchen, entertainment center, courtyard pool, etc. It was elegantly decorated as well, with a ton of collectibles and antiques. I literally felt like I was living in a museum so I was pretty much petrified of touching/breaking everything (ha!). My bedroom had a magnificent view of the rolling countryside fields which made mornings that much better. The room was also filled with classic furnishings and had an on-suite bathroom. All these posh amenities and fancy features made my stay feel like a luxury retreat!
While in the South of France, I had the chance to visit the nearby villages, art museums, and also the city of Toulouse! My favorite memory from my trip, however, was attending the village community feast. It’s a traditional gathering that takes place once a week in the summer. Tents are set up with live bands and scrumptious meals. The carefree atmosphere is fun and upbeat. I loved watching the locals get tipsy and dancing the night away! It was an incredible experience to have everyone come together to simply celebrate life. Overall, my sunny escape to the South of France was an idyllic vacation. The memories and adventure that I made that summer are ones I’ll always appreciate and remember. 🙂 ~b
Happy Tuesday, guys! Yesterday I drove down to Charleston with some family and friends for a mini day trip. So I thought what better idea then to share some photos from my last visit in the summertime!
Charleston, South Carolina is a super popular destination. Beloved by both tourists and locals, it’s well-known for its rich culture and historic charm. Exploring the historic district is a must-have and the best way to fully experience the city. Located in downtown, the South of Broad neighborhood is home to some of the most beautiful residential architecture. My absolute favorite is this posh mansion overlooking White Point Garden! It’s the perfect balance of classic and contemporary. Nearby these fabulous estates is the famous battery. It’s a nice place to take a stroll and catch a light breeze in the hot humidity. Below are some of my top pics from my summer trip, I’ll also be posting my pictures from my winter trip in a later blog post. As always, thanks for stopping by – until next time! 🙂 ~b
Happy Wednesday, everyone! One of the main reasons I started blogging was because I wanted to document parts of my life. Like a diary of sorts, I love the ability to reflect back with words and beautiful photography. Below are photos taken in West Palm Beach, Florida this past summer.
Naturally anywhere with tropical palm trees is my type of vacation and West Palm Beach was no exception. It’s absolutely gorgeous! My family and I were only there briefly after our cruise to the Bahamas. Regardless of the short stay, I still loved strolling around the sophisticated streets and gazing at the colorful pastel architecture. We also had time to venture to the beach and enjoy the calming seaside bliss. Hearing the waves rolled in, eased and rejuvenated my soul with a sense of carefreeness. I love peaceful and relaxing destination, so I hope to travel back one day to fully experience all that West Palm Beach has to offer! ~b
If you guys watched my recent mini haul then you will know that I won an embossed record player from Urban Outfitters. Excited to test out my new stylish audio player, I made a beeline to my local record store. As I filed through the music selections, I was transported in time. From one-hit wonders of the 80’s to head-bopping tunes of the 90’s, there were sooo many options. Although in today’s age of modern digital media vinyls may appear to be inconvenient. The vinyl revival is very much alive and they are making a comeback in sales. Records offer music lovers a different experience. They are retro, classic, and emit nostalgia vibes. A perfect fit for any hipster’s cozy living room. I plan on collecting a few for my home. 🙂 ~b
Hi guys! Last week my boyfriend and I went on a little dinner date (pictures below). This historic home turned cafe is a hidden gem in Uptown. Secluded from the bustling commotion of the city, it’s a perfect spot for a romantic dinner for two. We enjoyed our crème brûlée as French music played softly behind us and the charming string lights twinkled above us. I was simply enchanted by the magic of the night. 🙂 It was the perfect way to kick off the holiday season!
Anwyho, can y’all believe that Christmas is less then two weeks away?! The inner child within me is ecstatic (#KidAtHeart) !! I have a few more festive photoshoots up my sleeve but in the meantime I’m wishing you all a merry and bright week! ~b
Today’s the last day of November, which means Christmas is on the way! I still have sooooo much fall-related content to edit so I apologize that it might not synchronize with the ever changing-season. However, there’s some amazing photography that I couldn’t pass up posting! So stay tuned!
What I love most about fall is how nature inspires fashion. The fall foliage brings out wine red, golden yellow, and rustic browns into our wardrobe. Emerald green is also one of those exquisite colors. It’s elegant and has a way of refining an outfit. (Also, I personally think it looks great with dark hair!) I see this color a lot during the holiday season so you can easily transition this look into the upcoming winter. For this crisp fall morning, I layered my emerald green top with a herringbone quilted vest to create a stylish cold-weather outfit. Pairing it with dark-wash jeans and black leather riding boots completes the outdoorsy yet sophisticated look. ~b
Happy Cyber Monday everyone! Today marks a rare occasion where a Monday isn’t so dreadful – ha! I hope you all had a lovely holiday break with loved ones this weekend. I actually went back to my hometown for a few days. My boyfriend came along to meet my parents as well 🙂 . I’m almost certain that we both gained a solid 5 lbs with all the food my mum fed us with, but it was worth it because home cooked meals are simply the best!
Before we ventured back to Ohio to eat our hearts out, we did a spontaneous photo shoot (my brother helped too!). Living in the South means fall comes a little bit later so we were still able to capture these beautiful vibrantyellow leaves. The fall foliage was the perfect backdrop because it really made my blue demin jacket popped. Overall, this is one of my favorite fall outfit and therefore my go-to. It is seriously so easy to throw on and makes you look like you kind-ofhave your life together. Keyword: kind of. In all seriousness though, you can never go wrong with a pair of basic black leggings, causal demin jacket, plain white sweater, and comfy ankle booties. Layering it with a classical plaid scarf helps pull the ensemble together. My go-to fall outfit is down-to-earth and comfortable making it ideal for any cozy fall day. ~b
Happy Fri-yay guys! I have been putting off making an about me page/post for the longest time. I dread the whole process of defining myself in general. It feels like an interview or small talk which I have never been a big fan of. Plus, it’s rather difficult to summarize yourself in a paragraph or two. However, I understand readers will feel blinded if they don’t get to know at least a few facts about the girl behind the screen. So I rounded a list of 10 (ish) facts about me. 🙂
1.) Background: I was born in Vietnam. I immigrated to the United States with my family when I was 4 years old. I grew up in a small town in Ohio.
2.) Age: 23 years old 3.) Personality: INFJ 4.) Zodiac: Pisces
5/6.) Height / Weight: I am 4’11 or 4’10.5 and weigh around 93-96 lbs. I have stayed between this range since 7th grade. This is also about the time I stopped growing for good 😦 …but on my driver’s license I always write down 5’0 feet (haha… what can I say? It helps my self esteem).
7.) Gypsy Soul: I have done a fair amount of traveling. I have visited roughly 13 different countries and been all over the U.S. I backpacked Europe in college and my family did a road-trip across America when I graduated highschool. I do frequent trips throughout the year to various cities but I prefer international travel more and hope to be able to take at least one overseas trip a year. (Pst..Greece has been on my list!)
8.) Photographer: My brother and boyfriend both take pictures for me. They are amazing photographers and I am so so lucky to have their help. We go on a lot of mini weekend trips for fun so I try to get content from those excursions. I take some of my own pics on my Canon T3i or iphone 7. I edit all my photos with Adobe Photoshop or my phone.
9.) Favorite Music: Indie and acoustic jams give me life!! But I also like listening to dubstep songs when I run because it helps me pace myself.
10.) Quirky: Probably the coolest fact about me is that I am very good at social media contests. It’s like a hidden talent and I have won close to 45 contests the last 2.5 years. Some of my winnings include cash prizes, shopping sprees, wedding ring ( which I gave to my mother ) , a wedding dress ( I’m not married or engaged….lol ), beauty products, electronics, gift cards, home decor, etc. My favorite win of all time was an all inclusive paid trip to Cabo, Mexico courtesy of Urban Decay.
That’s all for this post. Thanks for stopping by guys! I really appreciate it and I hope to be able to open up more about my personal life as time goes on 🙂 ~b
I can’t believe next week is Thanksgiving?! It always amazes me when reflecting back just how fast time seems to go. A few weeks back I witnessed the beautiful mass accession of a dozen hot air balloons and it was simply breathtaking. They soared gracefully through the blissful blue skies. I was enchanted by the playful scene as I watched the balloons paint the plain skies with vibrant pops of colors and various fun patterns. They continue to float on to their final destination with a sense of carefreeness – a lost of distraction and time but still guided by the wind.
What I Wore:
My outfit was very much inspired by the season’s color palette of burgundy leaves and rustic twigs. My nomadic tribal print poncho blanket embodied the free spirit vibe of the celebration. Though it was a loose fitting layer, it still provided a flattering effortless chic shape. The fringe tassel detailing also added another stylish boho element to the overall look. Perhaps the best part is the fact that I thrifted this staple F21 item for $12 dollars (talk about a steal!) . To complete my whole outfit, I paired it with comfy distressed denim jeans and a cozy knit sweater. So even though chilly days are in the forecast ahead – I hope you guys don’t always have to compromise on some fun fall fashion! ~b
