- Last year in May, my brother and I bought tickets to take my parents to Paris for the first time using WOW airline. It went out of business one month before our flight. However, we did manage to get a refund and luckily found affordable flight deals through Chicago’s airport.
- In October, I was planning a trip to Japan but ultimately didn’t get to go. The weekend I was flying, Toyoko was hit by Typhoon Hagibis.
- This March I was all set for a 2 week trip to Patagonia, South America. But, of course, that’s when Coronavirus was starting to rapidly spread and everyone’s life was put on pause.
Life lately! Where to start, where to start…. I feel like so much has happened in the past few months that it’s hard to summarize it all. In short, life throws a lot of curveballs at you — so you mind as well not plan at all. Lol. The biggest dilemma that I am currently facing is my living situation for next year. Last month, I was considering (for like 2 seconds) of putting a down payment towards an uptown condo. I know, crazy right? It was a future investment property kind-of-thing. Anyways, that plan is no longer realistic because I might be moving out of the city into the suburbs for good. Which I was actually kind of okay with it at first, but now it’s like a big question mark looming over my head.
The company I am currently with is moving to a new corporate building. It’s literally ginormous and like a maze. We will be transferring everyone by the beginning of 2020. My current options are to either stay and have a long commute, move, or look for another job. But I am leaning towards the first two alternatives. I have a pretty good gig and I know a lot of modern millennial gals would love my position. ( I work in the special event industry – think parties, festivals, weddings.)
Anyways, living in the city is a huge privilege and a lifestyle that I definitely took for granted. But I am fortunate to have at least experienced it in my early 20s. The city surrounds me with skyscrapers, opportunities, and love which keeps my heart wanting to stay there… I haven’t completely decided what my next move is but I will know by the end of next month!
Also happening next month is my fall trip! I will be flying out to Japan in mid-October! I bought these cheap tickets in July and it was a spur-of-the-moment purchase. I love traveling internationally so I am looking forward to this adventure! Hopefully, when I get back I will have some cool pics to share!
In this post, I also included a picture of the art painting that I just recently purchased for my office. I love the piece because it’s like an explosion of happy colors on canvas that instantly brightens up the room! In addition, a white mini couch was also added to my workspace. I might be 25 years old but I still very much dislike the taste of coffee, so a power nap at noon on my sofa will do. #IWillSurviveAdulthood – one nap at a time. lol. I’ll be sure to do an updated office tour before my company moves out!
Lastly, I just wanted to mention that I just traded in my iPhone 7 for the iPhone 11! I think I’ve been living in the dark ages so I’m sooo ready for this upgrade. I always wanted to do a “what’s on my iPhone video,” and maybe I will this time around! Anyways, that’s all for this very long life update. 🙂 ~b
I’m in the midst of editing another apartment video so there will be a lack of blog post for a while. Currently, I do not have a lot of time throughout the week to edit pictures or create content due to my busy schedule. I did want to write another 10 facts about me post because I think they are fun to write and interesting to read. Enjoy!
10 Facts about me (Part 2)
1.) I work in the social media / advertising field doing marketing and design. I have my own office at my company’s headquarters. I’m a rather young professional so I feel very blessed and spoiled even – to have my own space to be creative. Once it’s fully decorated, I’ll see if I can create a mini corporate office tour for you guys!
2.) I do not keep any personal social media profiles like Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. But I do have multiple accounts on all platforms. They are all used for work related things / side projects. I love how influential and inspiring social media can be. Not to mention, it is a lot of fun!
3.) My boyfriend is not a photographer, which I think a lot of people assume. It’s just his passion and hobby! His actual profession is computer engineering. He’s very analytic and logical. My complete opposite basically. Haha.
4.) He used to be my next door neighbor and that’s how we met! We’ve been together for over a year!
5.) I have two apartments in the city that I call home.
6.) My dream dog would be a Pomsky. They are seriously so darn cute!
7.) Speaking of animals, my favorite animal is an elephant. You can find mini sculpture decor of them all over my home and office.
8.) I very rarely will buy jewelry. In fact, the only jewelry I do wear is a four leaf clover necklace which I have worn since 7th grade!
9.) I fell down a flight of stairs when I was 2 or 3, which left a permanent indent on my forehead. Forever clumsy.
10.) One of the best decisions I’ve ever made was choosing not to go to the Ohio State University. During the last month of my senior year of highschool, I was awarded a very big scholarship to attend a much smaller university near my hometown. This allowed me to graduate college debt free, putting me in a far better financial situation than most people my age. That’s why I am able to travel often, buy nice things, and live a comfortable lifestyle.
Welp, that’s all for this blog post! Thanks so much for reading and learning some weird facts about me! Here’s a link to my last one, in case you guys wanted to read some more! 🙂
