Travel:

Hi all! I recently got back from a trip out West. I was there for a few days to visit Death Valley National Park + Valley of Fire State Park. I always find it refreshing to travel and experience different sceneries every now and then. I did a couple of mini photo shoots while I was there and can’t wait to share them here! But in the meantime, I have a few throwback outfit photos from Vietnam that I will be posting to my blog.

Also in May, I will be flying out to Paris. My brother and I gifted my parents with a vacation to France this year. We’ve both been out of the country multiple times but my parents have never been to Europe. I am excited to whisk them away to a place that I love. It’s going to be a lot of fun and one memorable family adventure! In addition to France, I will also be in Belgium and the Netherlands.

Content:

Last October, I spoiled myself with a Prada Saffiano Double Cuir bag so the next video I will probably be making is an updated, “What’s in My Bag.”  You guys really seemed to enjoy my last one and I like the creative challenge of creating a stop motion. In the future, I would like to expand to more lifestyle video content. However, I think my youtube channel will always have a strong emphasis on home decor and tours because interior design is something I truly enjoy.

In 2019, I plan to relaunch my Instagram and post more frequently on that social media platform. It’s been something I’ve been really wanting to do. There’s actually a lot of projects that I would love to work on for my blog/video etc. but honestly – as of right now, I just create content whenever I have the time or want to.

Update:

Lately, I have been really into decluttering. Over the years, I have accumulated so much stuff that does not add value to my life. I have owned things for the sake of having things. There were items that were practically brand new and never used. I have come to realize how wasteful and unnecessary all of this was. I am not a minimalist by any mean nor do I aim to be, but I am in the process of slowly letting go and organizing. I want to redirect my path to living a more intentional life filled with patience, balance, and gratitude. ~b

Outfit of the Day – Horseshoe Bend + A Personal Reflection

For the longest time, I had this mindset that the final destination was always the best stop. Not just in terms of travel but in my everyday life as well. I guess I have this natural tendency to want to arrive from point A to point B in the most efficient timely manner. That’s the Type-A personality trait side of me coming through. Although following a  straightforward path in life is ideal, it’s really just not realistic. I am learning more each and every day that curveballs/setbacks are inevitable. To truly appreciate any final destination, you have to embrace the journey of getting there as well.

In fact, some of my favorite pictures in this post were not captured at Horseshoe Bend at all. Instead, they were taken on a random dirt road off of the main highway. The stop was unplanned and spontaneous, thanks to my lovely boyfriend who has a keen eye for photography. Among a sea of red rocks, there were these vibrant blue and white hills lingering in the distant. I was instantly drawn to the pops of colors and loved seeing the variations in the landscape. This location was also isolated which made it even more enjoyable.

After spending some time there, we continued our journey to our final destination, Horseshoe Bend. This is a mega tourist attraction in the area. It is a magnificent example of the natural beauty of Mother Nature and overall, an amazing sight to see. However, I am also thankful that I was able to experience the less traveled to stops along the way. 🙂 ~b

Outfit of the Day – Bonneville Salt Flats

Coat – Patagonia / Boots – Uggs / Jeans – American Eagle / Sweater & Beanie – H&M

When I booked my flight ticket to Utah in March, one of the top places I wanted to see was the Salt Flats at Bonneville. Thousands of years ago, this location used to be a huge lake that has dried up since then. Nowadays, it’s home to virtually nothing but salt pans. However, there’s definitely something worth capturing even in the middle of nowhere. It’s a beautiful natural phenomenon that becomes even more stunning after it rains. When wet, the salt flats cast a mesmerizing reflection of the serene mountain and blue skies. It’s one of the most surreal experiences to witness in person, while also creating one the best mirror effect photography. Captivated by it all, I felt like a miniature figurine inside a snow globe. The landscape stretches on for miles and you can’t help but feel so small in such a vast endless space!  ~b
