Sun seeking + South of France daydreaming! How I wish I could pack my bags and jet-set to rolling sunflower fields of the Provence region. It is one of my absolute favorite travel destinations – with its quaint villages and charming countryside. In any case, though, I haven’t so much left the country or my house in what feels like forever because the global pandemic is out here trying to ruin everybody’s summer! Am I right !?! But, I can always play dress-up and pretend I am somewhere sunny on holiday! 🙂
This abundant sunflower field is actually just a little bit outside of the city and the perfect spot for a photoshoot. I wore this beautiful smocked blue gingham dress with ruffle frill detailing. It has the most darling tie-knot adjustable shoulder straps. & to top off the quintessential summer look, I wore a straw bucket hat. This whole outfit is honestly one of my favorite from the season, because whether you are on a vacay getaway or having a picnic at the park – you can’t go wrong with a classic gingham-print dress. ~b
I think we can all agree that this summer has been anything but normal. As of late, it’s been hard to see the sunny side of the situation. That’s why my annual sunflower field adventure with my boyfriend was a bright spot in all this madness. It brought a sense of normalcy and nostalgia. We make the trip to this patch every July for our anniversary photos. It’s a glorious place with acres and acres of beautiful sunflowers smiling towards the skies. I love how happy it makes me feel to be there. 🙂
It set the scene for my most recent photoshoots. I wore a gorgeous yellow eyelet dress for one of my outfits. Since it was more of a muted pastel yellow, the dress was not competing with the sunflowers. It has intricate embroidery details woven throughout the cotton fabric, giving it dimension + design. With a fitted bodice and voluminous bottom, this dress is a twirling fave! Scroll down to see some photo inspiration from our sunny flower styled shoot & check out last year’s annual trip here! ~b
Though summer is inching its way into August, I wanted to share one of my absolute favorite looks from May. I have always loved the season of Spring the most. It’s the time of year when fashion is truly influenced and intertwined with nature. For its blooming flowers, pastel color palette, and soft billowing fabrics. Spring inspires and refreshes us with a new sense of style.
This lovely look is perfect for a garden party or wedding affair. Blush pink, floral print and feminine ruffles – if a dress could have all the whimsy essence of spring, then this is a frontrunner. I added a classic wicker bag for an effortlessly-chic, gal-on-the-go accessory. This whole outfit is undeniably timeless and elegant, making it a look I’ll wear on repeat for years to come! ~b
Crisp air and crunchy leaves, fall is in full swing! Time to break out the boots and layer up in sweaters! My favorite thing about fall fashion is the chunky knit sweaters. I am someone who easily gets cold so they are practically a staple in my closet year-round. This styled outfit was very much inspired by the autumnal colors and vibrant fall foliage. There is something unmistakably beautiful about every season and I love how fashion can celebrate it! Cheers to comfy + cozy looks, and staying toasty warm this November! ~b
Happy fall y’all! I know it’s already the end of October but better late than never! I actually took these pictures last year (hence why my hair is so short!) but never got around to editing them…I’m the worst, lol! I was visiting a pumpkin patch when I wore this cute and casual outfit. It’s not the traditional autumn look with earthy tones but I still love it all the same! Personally, I am a big fan of feminine style and pastel colors so I try to incorporate that into my everyday outfits. Hope you like this quick inspo! Have a great rest of your Sunday 🙂 ~b
A few years ago, I moved to the city with no real game plan. Just a wide-eyed grad with a rosy-tinted perspective of the world and all its possibilities. Though a small-town girl at heart, I always had big city dreams. One of my biggest goals in life is to be able to work for myself one day. I always loved creating something from scratch and cultivating it into something so much more. I am more proud of what I have accomplished on my own than anything related to my corporate career – and I realize fostering a vision is what motivates me. I still have a long way to go, but I am grateful for where I am at. The lifestyle I am able to live now feels like a dream. From the cosmopolitan bustle and hustle, to the boundless opportunities – uptown living is a chapter and an experience in my life that I am thankful for. ~b
Happy Labor Day weekend! Can’t believe August is over and fall will be here before you know it. I flew home to spend time with my family for the three-day break. But it’s been forever since I’ve posted so I wanted to do a quick blog post today. This mini photoshoot was from last Sunday and I got my Instagram boyfriend to help me out, lol. Nothing was really planned, we just walked around the historic parts of Uptown and snapped a few pictures at spots with a pretty background. I wanted to fit an end of summer outfit before I start posting some autumn ootds! There’s actually still photos from last year that I never got around to editing (I’m the worst!). So the next few weeks there will be “new” throwback posts. I also have been meaning to do a life update soon because a lot has been happening and changing – but that deserves it’s own post altogether. Anyways, I hope y’all have a great holiday weekend with family and friends! 🙂 ~b
Happy Thursday! Frolicking carefree through a field of beautiful sunflowers is the quintessential summer day. They are the perfect pick-me-up flowers and one of my absolute favorites! Just give me a bouquet of these and you can’t wipe the smile off my face. 🙂 That’s why I love making the drive out of the city to visit this flower patch every year in mid-July. When the field is in full bloom, it bursts into life! The sunflowers’ beaming golden hues stretch endlessly into a yellow mirage of beauty. Radiating warmth and joy wherever they grow. Nothing seems more fitting to style in this dreamy scape than a white eyelet dress with floral detailing. It’s classic, simple, and exudes sweet Southern charm. I think a white sun dress is a summer wardrobe must-have so I’m linking my 20 dollar #TJMaxxFind here! I hope this sunflower photoshoot helps brighten up your day and gives you a ton of inspo! Cheers to it almost being Fri-Yay! 🙂 ~b
Happy July Y’all! I can’t believe its already mid-summer! So much I still want to do before it’s over. But rainy and muggy weather is in the forecast for the next week and a half which puts a damper on a lot of my summer plans. Luckily, I did get a chance to visit Charleston recently. I wore this bright yellow jumpsuit while I was there and I think its bold color is the epitome of summer! It’s something I usually would never go for but I oddly like it. I found the jumpsuit for 11 dollars at Old Navy’s clearance rack last year. I know they don’t carry this specific floral print anymore but they do have some other summery classic patterns like gingham and chambray in stock. I love that these have pockets as well. I feel like women clothing are notorious for excluding this super functional feature, so it always feels like an added bonus when it is included. I hope you like this outfit inspo for today! I’ll be visiting the sunflower fields this month, and I have a cute white dress that I can’t wait to share on here! Wishing you all sunny weather until then! 😊 ~b
Citrus-chic! If this lemon print midi dress doesn’t screamsummer, then I don’t know what does. This fresh mellow yellow ensemble was perfect for a casual out and about day in Paris. I paired it with my light blue Prada crossbody bag for a fun pop of color!
On my recent trip, I visited the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens and walked the lovely Seine River with my family. The weather was fairly mild in May but the sun shining made all the difference. I always found sightseeing in Paris to be very charming. The buildings are historic yet elegant. Sometimes you can’t help yourself but ooohhh and ahhhh at the exquisite architecture. I also love to people watch. I noticed that most Parisians have an impeccable sense of style that is effortless yet composed. There’s no denying that Paris is simply a timeless chic city, one of the many reasons why I am so enamored by it. ~b
