Of all of my European travels thus far, I think I will always have a soft spot for France. Perhaps, it’s because I’ve been blessed to be able to experience so many beautiful places in this lovely country. From idyllic beach days at the French Riviera to wandering the rolling countryside. I adore and feel a connection to France.
This past May was my third time visiting Paris. However, it was my first time being here with my family. In some ways, it was kind of surreal. I never thought I would be able to take my parents on a trip like this, or at least at age 25. The older I get, the more I just want to give back to them. They made a lot of sacrifices for me growing up, so much so that they rarely allowed themselves to the leisure of a vacation.
During our Paris trip, it was the 130th birthday of the Eiffel Tower! In honor of the anniversary, there was a laser light show put on at night. The colors would “dance” and change with the rhythm on the tower. It was a really cool celebration to witness! Unfortunately, I didn’t get any good pictures at the event because of lighting….but I did get my family up at the crack of dawn to take some photos at the Eiffel Tower. ( See my mother and me down below! ) Early mornings at the Jardins du Trocadero are the best times to take pictures of the iconic structure without people in the background.
All in all, I love the city of lights and it means the world to be able to enjoy it with my family. I know Paris is a destination that I will continue to return to in the future and I can’t wait until then. ~b
